Agency Background
The Damulog Water District’s operation is headed by the General Manager and complemented by 9 energetic and enthusiastic employees under Job Order status. The Board of Directors is composed of 5 members and is the policy making body of the water district.
From the start, the LGU of Damulog used two (2) sources of water to supply the barangay Poblacion and other neighboring areas along the supply line.
One is from Kilangao Spring and the other is from Kipaling Spring which was run by electricity.
Kipaling Spring became the main source of water at that time due to its high pressure compared to the gravity from Kilangao. The Revised Revenue Code of the Municipality of Damulog enacted by the 11th Sangguniang Bayan og Damulog under Resolution No. 235-2011 stated that the minimum charge of P100.00 for 10 cu.m. Will be collected, and since Kilangao at that time was not that reliable enough, the consideration for the P100.00 minimum rate was based on the main source which is Kipaling Spring.
When DILG launched the SALIN-TUBIG Program, Kilangao Spring was developed since it is more advantageous in terms of operational cost. During this time, Kipaling Spring’s operation was put to a halt due to a high energy consumption. But as time goes by more and more
residents are applying for a water service connection, the Kilangao Spring’s volume of discharge is no longer enough to cover the entire area of service. With this, the Damulog Water District decided to re-open the Kipaling Spring to cover the demand for the water service connection.
On September 2018, the Kipaling Spring was re-opened to serve the people along its service line.
